Manual Therapy

What is Manual Therapy?

Manual therapy is a hands-on approach to treatment. Our physiotherapists use precise, skilled movements to diagnose and treat joint and soft tissue problems. This type of treatment is designed to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall function.

Joint Manipulation

Joint manipulation is a specialized form of manual therapy that focuses on restoring proper joint alignment and function. We use controlled, high-velocity movements to restore movement and reduce pain. With these techniques, you may often feel a “pop” (oftentimes painless) during the technique, commonly resulting in an immediate restoration of movement and reduction in pain. This technique is especially effective for spinal conditions affected by chronic stiffness, osteoarthritis, and acute musculoskeletal injuries.

Common Conditions Treated with Manual Therapy and Joint Manipulation:

  • Back Pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Shoulder Problems
  • Hip and Knee Pain
  • Sports Injuries

Key Benefits

Pain Relief

Manual Therapy offers a natural path for pain management by stimulating the release of endorphins, which are the body’s natural painkillers. This helps in reducing discomfort, whether it’s caused by injury, chronic conditions, or everyday stress.

Improved Mobility

Our hands-on techniques are designed to enhance joint mobility, increase flexibility, and reduce stiffness, allowing you to move more freely and comfortably.

Muscle Relaxation

Soft tissue manipulation helps release muscle tension, alleviate knots, and reduce spasms, providing immediate relief and improved muscle function.

Enhanced Functionality

Manual Therapy can help restore optimal function to injured or dysfunctional body parts, enabling you to perform daily activities and engage in sports and hobbies without limitations.

Faster Recovery

By stimulating blood flow to injured tissues, manual therapy accelerates the body’s natural healing processes, potentially shortening your recovery time.
